A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post titled “It’s Recognition Not Rocket Science” for Fistful of Talent. Employee recognition isn’t that hard but we’re continuously hearing stories of managers who screw it up. Because I’m always looking for a good way to hook the audience, I open the blog with a story about my deaf brother who received an ipod from his manager as a ‘Thank You’ gift for his hard work.
It turns out, I’m not the only one who thought it was a good story. Today Derek Irvine cited my story on his blog Globoforce. It made me feel pretty good.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, take a look.
